The Benchmark:
This will determine the optimal screening and approximate dot gain for your press which is crucial for achieving outstanding results. Although applying this information to all your process colors can already result in good outcomes, it is important to note that each color has its own unique gain characteristics. That’s why, at RS&A, we move to the next step to ensure balanced color across all hues.
The P2P Target:
For precise color reproduction and gray balance, our 4-color process test uses the results from the “Benchmark”. The i1iO spectrophotometer reads in these results and provides custom curves for each individual process color. Proper densities and documentation, including the anilox used for each color, are crucial for accurate results. With these customized curves, all future process jobs will be calibrated to achieve consistent color reproduction.

This is a 4-color process test that leverages the findings of the “P2P Target”. This enables us to create a tailored proofing profile. Our test results will allow us to provide you with customized Epson proofs that match your press, as well as a proof profile (.mx4) which is frequently requested when filling out print specification forms.
